PERSONALIZED, COMPASSIONATE PSYCHIATRIC CARE
We are committed to providing you personalized care to meet your mental health needs. The process of getting help for your mental health can be convoluted and challenging. We are available to help. We are accepting new patients and have availability to schedule appointments within days.
We are considered 'out of network' for all insurance plans. You would be paying out of pocket for appointments and can subsequently file for reimbursement with your insurance provider.
We will be seeing patients exclusively over video via telehealth platforms as a safety measure for the Covid19 pandemic. In person appointments will be offered when the situation improves and guidelines change.

Sayanti Bhattacharya MD, MS
Psychiatry training: Duke University
Masters in Epidemiology: Harvard University
Medical School: Calcutta University
I am a board certified adult psychiatrist and treat ages 18-65 years. I treat anxiety, mood, stress related disorders and have a special interest in treating sleep problems and adult attention deficit disorders. I have extensive experience in telemedicine.
My goal is to help you lead a full life to the best of your abilities. As every person is unique, adjusting medications and psychotherapy to meet their needs is crucial for improvement. I include principles of psychodynamics, supportive and cognitive behavioral therapy, motivational interviewing, and mindfulness in my practice. I like helping people struggling with interpersonal communication, social anxiety, and low self-esteem. Seeing people get better and attain their personal goals is the most rewarding part of my work.
Psychiatry consults, medication management and psychotherapy
All appointments are offered via telehealth
On your first visit, you will be scheduled to meet with your psychiatrist for 75 minutes.
During this appointment, we will explore the current issues that bring you to treatment and review in detail your history of prior treatments including medications and psychotherapy. Your doctor will screen for common psychiatric disorders, discuss your medical and family history, and learning more about you and your life during the evaluation. Evaluation is a process that may take more than one appointment. The initial consultation appointment serves to determine whether both you and your doctor are in agreement that this is the best fit for your psychiatric care.
Treatment recommendations will be discussed including the pros/cons of different options. We frequently request your medical records and order laboratory tests during this visit.
Follow-ups / Subsequent visits:
After your initial visit, you will be scheduled for a follow-up. Follow up appointments focus your progress and response to treatment. How often you will be seen depends on your response to treatment and the severity of your symptoms. When your condition is stable and your symptoms have improved, the appointments can be less frequent. At a minimum, you will need to be seen every 3 months.
Regular follow up appointments are 25 minutes.
When more time is needed to address all relevant issues concerning your mental health, you will be scheduled for an extended follow-up visit. Some common scenarios for longer visits are: your doctor is seeing you for psychotherapy in addition to managing medications, your family members or significant others are joining the session or if you have not been seen for 6 months.
Extended follow-up appointments are 40 minutes.
We are considered out of network for all insurance plans.
