Verve Psychiatry

We are committed to providing you personalized care to meet your mental health needs. We are accepting new patients and have availability to schedule appointments within days.

The process of getting help for your mental health can be convoluted and challenging. We are available to help.

We are 'out of network' for all insurance plans. You would be paying out of pocket for appointments.  Later, you can file for reimbursement with your insurance. A lot of our patients file for and get reimbursed by their insurance. We will provide a 'superbill/invoice' that you can use to file your claim.

We are seeing patients both in person and over video via telehealth platforms.

Sayanti Bhattacharya MD, MS

Psychiatry training: Duke University

Masters in Epidemiology: Harvard University

Medical School: Calcutta University

I am a board (American Board of Psychiatry and Neurology) certified psychiatrist and treat anxiety, depression, OCD, stress related disorders and have a special interest in treating sleep problems and adult attention deficit disorders (ADHD).

I include principles of psychodynamics, supportive therapy, cognitive behavioral therapy, motivational interviewing, and mindfulness in my practice. I believe in a personalized approach in adjusting medications and psychotherapy to meet an individual's needs. Relationship and communication issues, work or school related stress,  social anxiety,  panic attacks, body image issues and low self-esteem are common issues I help my patients with. Seeing people get better and meet their personal goals is the most rewarding part of my work.

Medication management

All appointments are offered both in person and via telehealth

On your first visit, you will meet with your psychiatrist for 75 minutes.

During this appointment, your doctor will explore the concerns that bring you to treatment and review in detail your history of prior treatments including medications and psychotherapy.

Your doctor will discuss your medical and family history, and learn more about you and your life during the evaluation. Evaluation is a process that may take more than one appointment. The initial consultation appointment can help to determine whether both you and your doctor agree that this is the best fit for your mental health care.

Treatment recommendations will be discussed including the pros and cons of different options. Your doctor may request your past medical records and order laboratory tests during this visit.

Follow-ups / Subsequent visits:

After your initial appointment, you will be scheduled for a follow-up.  Follow up appointments focus your progress and response to treatment.

How often you will be seen depends on your response to treatment and the severity of your symptoms. Appointments can be less frequent when you are stable and your symptoms have improved. At a minimum, you will need to be seen every 3 months.

Regular follow up appointments are 25 minutes.

When more time is needed to address all relevant issues concerning your mental health, you will be scheduled for an extended follow-up visit. Some common scenarios for longer visits are: your doctor is seeing you for psychotherapy in addition to managing medications, your family members or significant others are joining the session or if you have not been seen for 6 months.

Extended follow-up appointments are 45 minutes.

We are considered out of network for all insurance plans.
